About this deal

I used a bottle, glass is best, to mix a cup of apple cider vinegar with warm water. This mixture lasts a week or two once mixed and is fine to make up a bottle and use for a few washes. You don’t need loads to get a really good conditioning effect. My advice is to just have a go, when your hair feels that silky squeaky sleekness you’ve used enough. I pour over a good glug to coat the hair. Comb through and then another glug and repeat. I know this isn’t very scientific but you get the idea. Have you tried Rhassoul clay shampoo for your dry scalp?

Co-washing only made me want to wash my hair more. Literally – I would count down to the weekend when I could finally use shampoo again and relieve my scalp. It was counter-productive as a way to give my hair a break from shampooing since it only made me miss it more!I imagine some of you are wondering if this wash is safe to use on color-treated hair. According to one manufacturer who makes a similar clay wash it will strip commercial dyes but not henna-based dyes. I have not tested this. Unfortunately, co-washing isn’t the perfect solution that many 4c naturals, myself included, wish it was. Clay, on the other hand, has a much higher pH which can leave hair dull and gummy. Fortunately it’s very simple to restore your hair’s natural pH after washing – simply follow with the shine boosting rinse listed below! Oil produced from the scalp can build up causing the roots to become visibly greasy, weighing down the hair. Over-washing to combat this problem can strip the fiber leaving it dry. This results in a vicious cycle of washing. What if you could have hair that was cared for at both ends?

First, store bought shampoos usually have a pH level of around 5-6, which closely matches your hair’s natural pH. While this is a good thing, it is most often achieved using toxic surfactants such as sodium lauryl sulfate. There a few annoying things about using this clay to wash, but with a bit planning they can easily be coped with.Do you want to give gorgeous, handcrafted gifts for family and friends, without spending a bunch of time on them?
